canon cameras? which canon digital cameras that are recent are like the top of the line, as in the best models out of everything else?
Why are Canon cameras better for action and movement? I asked this question before and many people told me there is no difference between Canon and Nikon but anytime I look in the newspaper and there are pictures where the photographer happens to fall into the picture, they are holding Canon cameras. I have never seen Nikon cameras. What is Canon's specialty and what is Nikon's specialty?
Is Kodak and Canon cameras better than Samsung because they have been making cameras longer? My 10 yo daughter has been shopping for her first digital camera. She likes the features on one made by Samsung and it is within her price range. We were told by a sales person that Kodak or Canon cameras are better because they have been making them longer. Is the technology really that different due to length of time manufacturing a product? Does Samsung make decent digital cameras for a beginner? Sorry for several questions, but they all relate to my main question. Thanks for helping us make a decision!!!
What is the difference between these two canon cameras? Canon PowerShot A550 7.1MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom Canon PowerShot A570IS 7.1MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom they both have 7.1mp and 4x optical zoom except the a570 has image stabilized zoom so is that the only difference? i'm trying to figure out if that's the only thing because that one is $20 more. thanks!
Will Canon compact photo printers work with Nikon digital cameras? I'm interested in buying a Nikon D300 this week, but was very interested in using a Canon compact photo printer. I know most people's first response will be to buy a Canon Camera, but I have about ten years of Nikon lenses that I'm not too keen to part with at a loss, so finding a portable printing solution is kind of foremost right now...thanks!
Any CANON cameras similar to the Canon PowerShot G9? Do you think the G9 is a good camera? I'm looking for a new camera under $350 that takes pictures like the quality of an SLR. I like the whole blurry background.. What do you think of the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS 9-MP?
What is the maximum video recording time for Canon Powershot Cameras? I have a Canon Powershot S230 that is 6 years old. Regardless of the size of the memory card or resolution, it will only record a maximum of 30 seconds of video. I heard this was part of the design, not a malfunction. Do the current Powershot SD cameras record more than 30 seconds?
question for people who know about canon cameras? In particular the Canon Powershot cameras on the dial you can turn it to Night Snapshot which says it "allows you to take snapshots of people against twilight or night backgrounds reducing the effects of camera shake" ALSO you can turn the dial to SCN (special scene), which then allows you to select different scenes such as "night scene" which "allows you to caputre human subjects against a backdrop of evening sky or night scene. The flash is directed at the person and the shutter speed is slow" What is the difference between these two night settings, since they are both for taking pictures of people in the dark????
Why do almost all the pros use Canon cameras? In watching things on television, especially sporting events, and looking at photography magazines it seems that professional photographers almost always use Canon. There has to be a reason why they don't use Nikon.
any Canon powershot cameras coming out January or before? My birthday is in January, and I'm asking my parents for a Canon powershot camera. Right now I'm thinking about the SD950, but if any newer models are coming out January or before, than I'll ask my parents to wait to buy 'till it comes out. Anything coming out between now and January? Ten points for best answer. If there is a newer model coming, a website to prove this would help.
Is there a trick to conecting Canon Digital Cameras? I just got a Canon Powershot camera. I took some pics and tried puting them on my moms computer. The computer did not respond to the camera at all. I installed the software that came with it and connected it with the USB wire that came with the camera. This also happens with other canon powershots we tried to connect yet it works for my moms computer... If anyone could help ASAP that would be great!
Which of these Canon cameras are best? Out of the four cameras below, which do you recommend to for a beginners very first starting out photography camera? Canon Digital Rebel XT Canon Digital Rebel XTi Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS 18-55Is Kit Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi Thank you very much for your help and opinions.
Help with Canon cameras and video? I have a Canon SD 1000 and I have been taking some videos on it. However, for the last few videos that I have been taking and trying to upload to my computer, it doesn't work. The videos exist on the camera and plays, but has " 0 kb" when i try to open it from my computer. copy and paste and almost any other method doesn't work.
Error 99 on Canon cameras? I just got a new-to-me lens from a reputable lens dealer on ebay. They stated that the lens was in good condition except that the autofocus was broken. I have attached this lens to my Canon K2 Canon EOS 2000 Canon Rebel XT On every camera, when I press the shutter I get an incomplete shutter snap. Its the same on all three cameras, except my digital displayed an Error 99 while the others did not. My cameras all work perfectly with myother lenses. Any idea whats wrong with the lens?
About canon cameras or other cameras? I'm getting tired of digital cameras now, I'm going to move on to the good cameras that use film. Digital cameras often give unrealistic quality and I rather get the ones that use film because they give more of a vibrant and realistic setting to the photos. I was wondering, Once you take the picture, do you have time to delete it or anything? Like once you take the picture, 1 film piece is used or how does it work?
How can Canon's HD cameras have the same pixels as the XL2? I'm looking into the Canon XL2 but I don't want to miss out on an HD camera if it's the next big thing. On Canon's website it says the active pixels for the XL H1 are 1.56 in HD and for 16:9 SD it's 1.56 THE EXACT SAME. I thought HD was more resolution in the same amount of space or more pixels per inch. Where am I misunderstanding? Also, where can I see side by side comparison of the XL2 with one of Canon's HD camera's or at least one of the HD's since I can find XL2 footage. HELP!
Need the CEO address for Canon Cameras? My Canon XTI has front focused from day one. Has been to factory repairs twice. They give me the run around about getting a new body under warranty. Who else can I talk to above them? CEO address?
How reliable are Canon Powershot digital cameras? I heard they're really good, but not sure what to get. I don't need more than 10 megapixels because I heard MP is overrated anyway, but I want at least 6 or 7 MP. I also don't want to spend more than $150. What should I get? Thanks
Canon cameras, iphoto and canon software? I just got a new Canon camera and I was wondering if people who had Canon cameras bothered installing the Canon CD onto their computer (Apple), or whether they just used iphoto? Is there a benefit to using the Canon software or is iphoto better?
Why don't Canon make cameras with better optical zoom? I love Canon cameras, I think they are the best but the lack of a good optical zoom is really letting them down IMHO. In the consumer and prosumer ranges they aren't nearly as good as some of the other brands with 10x or 12x or even 18x zoom. Why, Canon why?? I love the features of the S3 IS (yes I had done extensive research prior to posting and should've explained more). The S3 IS had every feature I was looking for EXCEPT the 3:2 ratio. It only has 4:3 ratio, which is a pain in the butt for printing photos. I'm talking about the G7 in my post, which is also pretty perfect EXCEPT the optical zoom only goes to 6x. If it was at least 10x I'd buy it in a heartbeat. But I love the swinging LCD screen on the S3. I wish somehow the features from both could be combined... ahhhh.. time will tell :)
Does low battery life affect photo quality in Canon IXUS cameras? I just came back from a trip where I took a lot of photos and when I reviewed the pics, I realized that my photo quality near the time the low batt indicator came out was not as good as the earlier ones for those taken in Manual Mode. For those automatic mode, the flash is sometimes too bright. Any ideas?
Where can i get parts to a canon camera? Well, i someone dropped my camera on the floor and the button that takes the picture popped out of the camera. Where can i find spare parts of canon cameras in order to replace the lost button.
Canon powershot digital cameras? Dear friends, based on some recommendations, I was planning to buy a new digital camera Canon powershot SD600, this was almost 5 months ago and I did not buy it until now that I tried to buy it, but I found that the prices for this particular model have gone up a little a bit maybe it’s because newer models have come and many sellers do not carry this particular model anymore, does any one of you know of the newer models from Canon that has all the features of Canon powershot SD600 and can be a good or even better replacement for that? Thank you very much for taking time to reply to my question, passenger.
What are the differences between Canon powershot S2, S3 & S5is cameras? I've been looking for a digital camera for a while, but I want to make sure I gather plenty of information since it is an expensive purchase. I've looked at several different models, but I keep coming back to the Canon Powershot line. Specifically the S3 and the S5. I know the idea is to keep improving the line, but does anyone know what the improvements are and what additional features the S5 may have? Pros and Cons between the two, experience with lag time, battery life and such? Any help would be much appriciated.
Comparision between Nikon D40 and Canon Rebel Digital Cameras? I am wanting to buy a camera for my wife for Christmas, but I am a poor college student--she wants a camera that will be semi-professional. I also feel that I would rather get the best camera for the price and spend the extra $100. If you know of somewhere where I can get the best deal as well--that would be awesome.
Canon Cameras ? Okay so by old camera [ sony cybershot ] keeps breaking, like the button where you press down to take a picture always. always, always pops off and the spring does too and the company gave us a new camera, but the new one just did the same exact thing. I want a canon camera now, like a canon powershot and I just want to know what you'd recomomend ? My friend has a canon S3 IS and I like that, but she did say that it is heavy and gets annoyoing, so I want a lightweight. I love taking pictures, espically of horses, animals, nature, etc. So recomendations would be great I'm pretty much looks for a lightweight sleek powershot canon that still has good quality.
canon cameras? I heard about a canon camera that takes black and white photos, but you can also pick a color to leave in the photo with that black and white. Kinda like those photos with the little girl, and the only color is her yellow flower. Does anyone know what camera have this feature. I want one soooo bad! Thanks!
Canon Cameras? Which camera is better to get in the ELPH series. the 800is, 850is, 870is, 900, or 950is. I was leaning towards the 850is.
Which digital cameras except for Canon ELPHs have a "scene mode" for color key? I'm trying to decide on which new digital camera to buy and am very intrigued by Canon's color key option (e.g. have the picture be b/w except for one specific color); OR: swap specific colors). Are there any other brands that offer this function, too? There's just no Canon camera out there for me (ultracompact, wide angle, >4x optical zoom, good design), so I was hoping there might be other cameras out there that can do color key, too. (And yes, I am aware that I could achieve the same results by using Photoshop, but honestly, why spend hours in front of the computer when the camera can do it in seconds?) Thanks!
who knows about canon cameras? I have a canon powershot 300 digital elph, and whenever i seem to take photos, the pictures come out blur and i have to hold the button down twice as long to take the picture -i don't know that much about the cameras so
Sony or Canon digital cameras? My birthday is coming up in November and i want a digital camera i fell in love with this pink sony camera but my friend said that sony isn't the best camera i mean its good but its not the best camera she said that canons the best. So what camera should I choose the sony camera that I love or the canon camera? Which do you like better song or canon? by the way, this is the sony camera that i want if you have it, tell me what you think i mean do you like it, is it a good camera, does it last long? http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665061038
What canon cameras are the BEST for professional photographers? I have had a canon powershot A70 since 2004. I've had contacts compliment my pictures and encouraging me to go 'pro'. I've been looking into another more advanced canon, but I'm having a hard time deciding. I loved the ease of use in my A70, so I'd like it to be responsive and customizable like it. Preferably under $800 since this is my 'starter' camera to see how the business goes. Then I'll get my 'hardcore' camera later. I've been looking at the S5 IS and the S3 IS, but there is some fringing in some of the photos that I don't really like (dpreviews.com). It doesnt have to be canon, but 95% want canon since I am already comfortable with the setting and controls. Anyway the things I want are: * Ability to print clear poster size * Ability to get good macro, night shots and moving (like water) like with IS * to 'look' like a professional's SLR instead of like my A70 that anyone could use/own * lenses/flash changeable/responsive/customizable * movie mode * Wide range of ISO Well there were a few more main things I wanted, but I dont want to be too picky. So recommend what you think is best in canon for the main things I was wanting and if you think S5IS/S3IS are a bad idea for what I'm wanting since I'm just wanting a 'starter' pro camera. Thanks! Oh and in case it wasnt obvious digital please! I'm too clumsy for film!
canon digital cameras? hey i've been looking to find a new digital camera. i love taking pictures of things whether it's my friends and me or flowers. i want something w/ nice zoom and that makes good quality pics. i also would like a canon camera...i think they're really good. can anyone tell me a nice canon digital camera that isn't too much money? i mean something below like 400...300 would be my highest probably! i like slim and small so that it fits in my purse and i also said that i like nice zoom...any ideas? thnx :-) ya well i just want something that has better zoom than the crappy sony one i have now! i'd be happy w/ 4 or 5x zoom it doesn't have to be like 10x or whatever! i need better zoom because i take closeup photos of flowers and other things like that...i think i'm pretty good but the sony makes the pics come out all fuzzy and everything...my dad's works much better plus i'm going to france w/ my school in two years when i'm in tenth grade so i'd want something small and not too big so i can put it in a little purse or something
Good Canon Cameras? i was thinking of Canon a710/a720 but they're kind of pricey. i'm looking for a decent caemra, i'm only 15 byt he way. but i love photography, but i'm not really interested to become a professional. does anyone know a good camera that has good optical, MP, video with sound, and takes good quality images and isn't as expensive as canon a720is & a710
question about canon cameras? if i purchase a canon camera, what is the minimum amount of megapixels that i would need to buy to get a decent/good camera?
Cameras....canon, nikon?? which one??? ok im going to buy a camera, but i need to know.... i think im getting a canon eos digital rebel xt but i want to know whats the difference between that and a canon eos 20d or 40d is the 20/40d better than the rebel by alot? i need one for around the price of the rebel, but i need a camera with excellent proffesional qualities, im only 15 but i really am interested in photography and it might end up as my career so i need to know? or if you think botht those cameras suck and you think theres a better one out there for around that price can you tell me? thanks please give me actual cameras, not just name brands OK um well im almost done with highschool, and actually ill be 16 this weekend and ive taken classes before, i know a lot about cameras, lenses aperture, whatever, i just need a good camera, i have cameras now, i have a nikon F2 asa which requires film which i dont have time or money for, and yes i know about dark rooms ive done it plenty of times, i have a polaroid t730 which is just a small point and shoot camera, its good but i need a professional one, i just need to know whats a good camera, please dont assume i dont know anything about how to use cameras
Digital cameras: Canon or Panasonic? I have about $300 to spend on a new digital camera. I'm looking at either the Canon SD1000 or the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX12K. I really just want something fast, good quality pictures, and a durable camera I can carry in my pocket. Crazy camera modes are also desirable. Does anyone have either of these cameras who can tell me which one to go with? Thanks!
Good digital cameras?? Canon sd600? I'm looking to buy a new digital camera and would like to stick around the $200-275 range. I've heard great things about the Canon SD600 and was wondering if anyone was familiar with this one?? What other digital cameras out there are nice? I'd like something relatively small, with a larger screen on the back....just something that takes good quality pics. Any suggestions?

Nikon system vs. Canon system? (cameras + lenses). Objective opinions please (not biased).? -IN MY OPINION- Pluses for Nikon: - colour rendition (i love it) - DX format - better overall build quality in lower-end cameras Pluses for Canon: - clearly, most pros use Canon - L series lenses So, overall, i guess this is not a discussion in terms of the camera body, as these keep renewing themselves every year and I might purchase a better model when one comes along. But good lenses last forever, so this is the determinant factor. But i am still not sure which way to go. It seems to me that Canon has a broader and better variety of lenses, and those L lenses are VERY tempting. Does Nikon offer same quality glass? If so, which lenses should I purchase? Also, I've noticed that some lenses are only compatible with Canon 30D and Digital Rebels. Are the L series lenses compatible with both full-frame cameras (1D, 5D) AND their semi-pro models (30/20D, dRebels)?
Canon Digital Cameras? Hi, can someone please tell me the best or one of the best canon digital cameras from a $200-300 price range? And can you tell me a store where I can buy it - I live in Canada. Thank you very much. :)
is a Kodak SLR tripod compatible with Canon SLR cameras? The reason I ask is that I have a canon SLR EOS XTi, and I was looking on amazon.com. I found a kodak one that was a fraction of the other brands. should I buy the kodak one or do I need to pay more for a canon brand? here is the link if its any help http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-Release-Digital-Cameras-Camcorders/dp/B000QJ00ZA/ref=pd_bbs_sr_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1206480905&sr=8-6
Canon Digital Cameras? From what I've heard from photographers, Canon is the best brand. I'm looking into buying a Canon digital camera in the $300 or under price range.. any recomendations to one that takes quality photos, and is a good camera altogether?
Leica C-Lux Point and Shoot Digital Cameras vs Canon SD900? Or a Different Make/Model? I just purchased a Canon SD900 but the shutter lag time is driving me nuts! I'm thinking of reselling it on ebay and purchasing a Leica C-Lux 1 or 2 instead. Does anyone have any tips or advice with the Leica's? I tend to be slightly picky with my digital cameras as the shutter lag must be fairly non-existant, the lcd must be large and I'm neutral on the viewfinder option, I prefer rechargeable li-ion battery packs, sleek pocket-size, and excellent close-ups (macro mode) and scenic (infinity) as well as portraits, etc. I had a 5mp Casio QV-R51 that was surprisingly took better pictures than the Casio Exilim S600 and now this Canon SD900 *shakes head*. The Canon SD630 I recently had was up there and beat out this SD900 but I'm quite dissatisfied with the shutter lag. Any input, ideas, or tips, etc. or another suggested model for about $300? Any info will be greatly appreciated! Thanks alot! -S
