Canon EOS Rebel XT Resolution Help - How do you increase resolution of images? I have an 8 megapixel Canon EOS Rebel XT. It is a very good camera, but I notice that when I open images in my editing program that the resolution of the images is always 72 pixels. The size of the image is huge - 3456 X 2304 - but how can I increase the resolution? Any tips on getting sharper images would also be appreciated. Thanks.
What lenses should I buy with a Canon EOS 30D for nature photography? I'm thinking of buying the Canon EOS 30D but don't know what lenses I should buy with it. My interest is in nature photography (mountains, beach, wildlife) but have never invested in a good camera. How can I make a Canon EOS 40D take an immediate photo? I am borrowing a friends Canon EOS 40D to take shots of my daughter for Christmas pics. My friend is out of town, so I am looking to find out how I can take an immediate photo. Every time I push the button, it seems to focus first and then I have to press it in all the way, and eventually the camera clicks. Any way to avoid this delay...just point, push and click? I figure there must be with this fancy and large camera. Thanks.

Can old lenses from the 70s fit on to the Canon EOS series? My dad has old canon lenses from the 70s and I was thinking I'd get him a DSLR, specifically the Canon Digital Rebel XTi. I heard that the old lenses do fit the EOS series but I have no idea if that's true or not. Is there anyway I can tell by looking at the lenses themselves? A model number or something?

Is there a way to change color on the Canon EOS Rebel XTI? Ok, I have the Canon EOS Rebel XTI and just had a quick question. I know that you are able to change the color of an image to black and white(monochrome), but is there a way to change it on the camera to sepia tone? How can I fix my broken Canon EOS Digital rebel XT lens? I bought a canon EOS digital rebel about 2 weeks ago, and yesterday i dropped it! The lens 45ed and i tried to straighten it but it popped right out! Now I have a lens in two pieces, nothing is actually snapped in half but the thing is useless when its in two. Going to canon would be nearly as expensive as getting a new lens... if not more.
Buying a lens for a film Canon EOS Rebel? I recently bought a Canon EOS Rebel 35mm from ebay and when it arrived, it was totally in working condition but without a lens. When I went back and looked at the auction I realized it had said "body", but I had somehow overlooked it. Since it's not a digital Rebel I don't know where to buy a lens. Any suggestions? Can I even find one? The camera looks to be circa 1990. Help would be totally appreciated.

Is a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi too much of a camera for a beginner? I have been interested in photography since I was very young and I would really like to get into it, but I just don't know where to start. What's a good camera to upgrade to from a Canon EOS 3000? I would really like a digital camera to replace my EOS 3000, but don;t want to spend a fortune again - Are there any digital cameras that use the same lens as the EOS 3000? How do i use my CANON SPEEDLITE 300EZ FLASH on my Canon eos 350D camera? I have a Canon Eos 350D. I recently got my flash CANON SPEEDLITE 300EZ FLASH. Not sure on how to use the flash. The flash works manually but when i place it onto my camera, it doesn't seem to work. Are there settings that need to change or is it that the flash isn't compatible with my cam?

How could I possibly protect my Canon EOS 40D DSLR camera from water splash while on a boat trip? I am planning to spend my holidays in the Philippines and spend some time island hopping in Palawan (Honda Bay Island). They said the boat ride usually takes more than an hour and could be sometimes rough. I was just wondering If there are waterproof camera bags I could buy to protect my camera in case of a water splash, or worst camera falling into the water (hopefully shallow water). I have a Canon Eos 1000F and want to trade it in for a digital model. What would you suggest? Am looking to spend up to £500, maybe more. It's got to be quite light as I like to travel a fair bit - the 1000f has been a great friend, it's just time to go digital. I don't feel the need for many snazzy features but a fast wind would be a great help. Clarity of shot is the most important aspect - as I've been told by numerous people that the digital equivalent won't compare to my old format in terms of image quality? Is this your experience? In terms of make, I'd like to stay with Canon as I've got a few lenses - although I don't know whether they will work on the new camera. So does anyone also know whether my 70-210 lens, which is old school glass and hard casing - would work on digital camera or will I have to buy a new one? Thanking you in advance

CANON EOS IX APS SLR camera? I have a Canon EOS IX Slr camera, with 24 to 85mm lens it uses APS or Advantix films instead of conventional films, it was revolutionary at its time until the emergence of the DLSR, i bought it for sentimental reasons and its ease of use, i also have a Canon Speedlight 430ez flash.. here is my problem now im thinking of buying a DLSR im choosing either a Nikon D70 or Canon 350d or 400d, but im leaning towards a Canon, so i currently have 2 SLR a Nikon F80 with Tamron 24 to 200mm lens and Nikon SB-25 flash, and the Canon EOS IX with 24 to 80mm lens and Canon Speedlight 430ez, if i will buy a DLSR, one of my SLR will go, i will sell, which would i sell, one would be my backup SLR. OR shouldf i just keep it because its useful and it wouldnt be that large sum of money if i sell it. If i sell shall i sell the whole line or just the camera body, the lens or the flash. If i go DIGITAL would my existing flash be fully compatible or need to be sold and be replaced as well.. in a bdget
Canon EOS and the 35mm sensor? I've recently bought a canon EOS 400D that I am very happy with it so far. I've been learning about the equivalence of lenses between the old 35mm film camera and the modern digital camera and the slightly smaller sensor. If you have 50mm written on the new EOS lenses then you have to multiply that by 1.6 to get an idea what focal length it is equivalent to on an old 35mm film camera. In this case 80mm. Now I'm reading that it's possible Canon will develop a 35mm sensor. The question is, If Canon do this will they develop a new generation of lenses that will not be compatible with my EOS 400D body?

Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III or Canon EOS 1D Mark III? I have a Canon 40D and I have great success with taking all around Pictures with it, from Scenery, to Sports, and Few Potriats (Outdoor Only). I started with the Original Canon Rebel 35mm the Adre Agassi Endorse and it still works like the first day I bought it. I up to the Canon Digital Rebel XT then the 40D. The lenses I have for the Digital are The 17-88mm IS EF-S, the 28-135mm IS EF and last a 100-400mm IS EFL. I considered my Digital all investments and I have been seriously looking to make a major investment in the EOS 1D Mark III or the IDs Mark III. I know the 1Ds has the full frame and the 1D does not. But I want to know more and get more feed back. I know there is a 4000.00 dollar diffrence even seen a 1Ds at a camera exchange for half the retail price canon offers. (Use of Course) Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Canon EOS 30D or Nikon D80? I have the option of getting the Connon EOS 30D or the Nikon D80. The Nikon comes with a free $600 lens however I'm not sure of the model and on the links below I don't know if the lens model is listed. I really like both of the cameras but I'm not sure on which one I like. The Nikon is the higher priced one, but lower mega pixels but with the great lens. And the Canon is the higher mega pixel but I don't think it comes with a different lens. I always thought that the higher the MP the better the image quality so when it comes to that part I get confused on which one I want. Which one would you recommend? Lens options when buying Canon EOS 400D? Hi there, I've pretty much settled on the Canon EOS 400D as my first DSLR camera. I currently have a Canon EOS 3000N and I have 2 lenses - and EF 28-90mm and an EF 100-200 lens which I believe are compatible with the 400D. I've noted various package option from chassis only to those that include a Canon EFS 18-55mm USM lens and some that also include a Canon EF 75-300mm III lens. My question is - are my current EF lenses comparable to the package lenses(will I be happy with just my old lenses) and therefore just buy the chassis or will I get better value by if I pick up the lens kit(s) with the camera now? The extra dollars aren't really the issue - I just don't want to get 1 or 2 new lenses if I'm not going to get a significant benefit out of having them. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Don't know if this will 'add' to my original request or overwrite but I just wanted to say thanks for the input from all 3 respondents - I will go with the Body Only option at this stage and review my needs once I 'have had a play'. The flash has a "CN AF" module on it, which is only TTL compatible, not E-TTL, and the XTi won't fire the flash. Canon EOS 400D? I own a Canon eos 400D and think it is the dog's gonads, anyone agree??? So easy to use yet it has so many features that are seen on the 30d, a more expensive camera. Iknow the 400D is not a pro camera, but i do not think it should be classed as an entry level camera either as it sports some of the same features as a pro camera and it also has the new sensor cleaning system.

Canon EOS 400D problem.? I have a canon eos 400D (digital rebel xti) and I wasn't paying attention and put the card in the wrong way. Some of the metal pins were bent (which my boyfriend striaghtened) when they were aligned again I put the cf card in and it still said there was a problem with the cf card. The card is fine, but I think one of the pins were pushed into the camera and can't reach the card. Somebody quoted us $400 when it is just $10 to replace. Does anyone know if this is fair. Or if there is a way to fix it without voiding warranty. (warranty won't fix the problem my camera has though).

Canon EOS Rebel K2 35mm Camera Help!? I just bought a Canon EOS Rebel K2 35mm camera for a film class. Our first assignment consist of us taking pictures in Manual Exposure Mode. We have to be able to change the shutter speed and the aperture. I figured out how to change the shutter speed but I can not figure out how to change the aperture manually! I know on old cameras you can do it on the lense but on mine you have to do it on the LCD panel! And it stays on 5.6 and will not change! I have got to be able to take normal, under, and over exposed photos! Can anyone help me???

Canon EOS Rebel XSi? ello there! :) uhh, well i'm 14 years old and i'm really interested in photography. as a matter of fact, i just signed up for photography at my high school for next year (hoping i can get in...) and i'm interested in purchasing a camera this year~next year (i'm raising money). last month, the canon eos rebel xsi came out and is priced at $899 for the kit and the eos rebel xti kit is currently priced at $599. do you think the xsi price will drop by the middle~end of this year cause i know the eos rebel xti dropped a few hundred by the end of last year. if not i'd probably purchase the xti but i really like the new features of the xsi :)
Which to buy, Canon Eos 40D or Canon Eos 30D? Hi, I've been into photography for about a year now and I use a Canon Eos 500 Film SLR with 28-80mm f3.5/5.6 lens and 70-200 f4.5/5.6 lens. I would like to go into macro and candid photography and was wondering which camera to buy, a 40D or a 30D. I also did consider the Nikon D80 but as I know the 30D is much better and for me easier to use. I am on a tight budget of around £700 maximum. The point is do I get a 30D with the cheap and nasty kit lens or a 40D body and use my current lenses. This is advisable as I would like a D SLR in time for my trip to Disney Land Paris with the school for Drama GCSE Or wait a year and get A 40D with the very nice 17-85mm F4/5.6 IS lens and miss the chance to take it on my trip. Another two options are to have the D80 with the O.K 17-80 f3.5/4.0 lens Or sell my film body and two lenses with bag for £150 and try and make the extra £100 in one month some how in order to buy the 40D with 17-85mm lens. Which option would you suggest? Any other options?
Canon EOS 40D Flash? Howdy, I just purchased a new Canon EOS 40D for a small photo business and need a flash for it. At my local store they only had the 580 EXII available for a little over $500. Then at a diff store they have the 430EX for about $300. Are there any other brands that are compatible with Canon EOS cameras and work as well? If not is the 430EX good enough? CANON EOS 400D - question about other lenses.? I recently bought a canon eos 400d and it's really cool. I have been offered my brothers old canon lenses. its a Canon Zoom FD 35-105mm 1:3.5 the other is a FD 50mm 1:1.8 I don't know much about lenses - Does anyone know will these fit?

Differences between Canon EOS 20D and 30D SLRs? I'm upgrading from film to digital and have my heart set on a Canon EOS but I'm not sure which one, if the 30D is worth the extra $300 more it costs than the 20D. Can anyone break down the differences in simple terms for a novice? Thanks!

Which is the better option for a professional; a Canon 30D or a Canon EOS 1D? I'm looking at two cameras here. One is a Canon 1D (the original 4MP outfit for pros) that has a really low shutter count (less than 8000 shots taken, and the shutter is rated at 100,000). The other is a new Canon 30D. Both are going to cost me about the same. The 30D has a higher megapixel count, but it is also a consumer grade camera. The 1D has a larger sensor, but this is also a camera that is several years old. Which is going to give me the best quality images? Which will hold out longer? What are some important points to consider? I mostly shoot family portraits and weddings. Any tips or suggestions?
If I could only buy one L-glass lens for a Canon eos 5d which should it be? I am just starting with professional equipment and I'm thinking of the canon 5d but I have no clue what lens I should use as my most versitile "stand by" lens...I will be shooting indoors in low light and groups of people outdoors (weddings). I am also considering the Nikon D300. Any advice would help!
Where can I get a Canon EOS Digital Rebel for a lot cheaper? I wanted to know if anybody knows where I can get this camera for cheap compared to the high price it is now. Also, the camera must work, too :) I threw that in there because I know you can get them for a lot cheaper if the camera's broken and is used for parts.

drivers for canon eos rebel xt? i have a canon EOS digital rebel xt 8 megapixel camera. I recently moved and in the move i lost the software cd that came with the camera. I wouldn't have noticed but i had to replace the hard drive in my computer and when i went to reinstal the camera software and drivers i didn't have the disk and i have went to the canon website and all they seem to me to have is the updater for the actual software. i plugged my camera into my pc and it didn't recognize the camera and i don't know what to do. i have a thousand doller camera and i have no way pf getting the pictures off the camera.. can anyone help me? ::: update::: i was able to download the editing software from canon.com but i can't figure out what file is needed to make the pc recognize the camera with the usb plug in. i have the editing software. i think its called drivers. i just don't nor can't figure out what to download. can someone send me a link?
Which Camera? Nikon D50 or Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT? Hey, Ive been looking for a camera for a couple days now and Ive come to a conclusion. The Nikon D50 with Nikon 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6 G Autofocus Lens for 500 dollars or the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT for 600 with Canon 18-55mm EF-S Lens. I am going to use this camera to take sports pictures and Im not sure which one would be best for that, keeping in mind the 100 dollar difference. Canon EOS Lens question? My mom has a canon eos (not sure exactly which, but i can find out soon) and i want to buy her a normal range lens, because at the moment she only has the major zoom kind and she has to stand way back to take normal pictures, i am going to go to local camera store to see what lens i should get then go online and buy one, but i was just asking to see what price im looking at in general, i want a cheap lens, just not the crappiest kind.. something decent... any help would be great.. oh, and i dont know any of that camera talk, so keep it as english as possible :P.... thanks
Canon EOS Rebel K2 35mm Camera Help!? I just bought a Canon EOS Rebel K2 35mm camera for a film class. Our first assignment consist of us taking pictures in Manual Exposure Mode. We have to be able to change the shutter speed and the aperture. I figured out how to change the shutter speed but I can not figure out how to change the aperture manually! I know on old cameras you can do it on the lense but on mine you have to do it on the LCD panel! And it stays on 5.6 and will not change! I have got to be able to take normal, under, and over exposed photos! Can anyone help me???

Canon EOS 400d RAW files?? I recently bought a Canon EOS 400d & it came with software to upload the pictures that I have taken onto my Mac, and then using that program i have to export them, then re save them as JPEG files, I thought everything was fine with these until I tried to open these 'jpeg' files on another computer/mac and they are not recognised as JPEG files and wont open...so i dont know what else to do...is there a setting on the camera that i can change so that they automatically are taken as JPEGS? its such a hassle!!

So I have chosen the Canon EOS Rebel Xti and Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM (Now What Else Do I Need?)? Hello again everyone. Well I believe I have made my decision. For my entry in true digital photography I believe I am going to go with the Canon EOS Rebel Xti for the camera and the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM for the first lens. Now I know many of you said I should get the "70-200mm L" but, I went to my local professonal photography shop "Van Tuils" and I talked to one of the seasoned photographers there and he really helped me decide. Besides he used to do Equine photography before. So anyways what I need to know now is what all else exactly do I need to get right away to begin and that I will need in the future. Please specify in your list if it is not needed right away. The main work that I will focus on is Equine/ Wildlife, Pet and portrait shooting. Also I know Im going to need memory cards but would it be better to use 1 4gb or 4 1gb memory cards. Someone said to do that because the smaller ones are faster to process. Where can I find a copy of the Canon EOS Utility software? Hey Everybody, I need a copy of Canon's EOS Utility Software and can't find it anywhere. I have a Digital Rebel XTi. I am on vacation and have filled the my memory. I went to download them to my laptop here the other day and realized I don't have the EOS Utility installed on this laptop, only on my PC back in Philadelphia. Canon will not allow me to download this software and they insist on sending me a CD for $20, which is total crap. So, what I am asking is, does anybody have the installation files for the Canon EOS utility? I am not asking for anything illegal here because I own the camera and have the right to use their software. If you have it and could direct me to a download link, I would appreciate it GREATLY and you would REALLY be getting me out of a bind here. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! PS- The update is available on their website, which I can't use... without the full version.
Lenses for Digital Camera Canon EOS Rebel XT? I am thinking about buying a Canon Digital Rebel XT. The one I am looking at comes with a EF-S 18-55mm lens. I took a photography class in college about 5 years ago but I really am drawing a blank of well, about everything. Besides, all of my work there was in film though this does seem quite a bit similar. From some things I have read, there is a difference between digital mm measurements and regular 35mm print film measurements. Can someone please explain to me what DIGITAL lenses would be good for what kinds of use? And this may be a dumb question but would my Canon Rebel EOS 35mm lenses interchange with this digital Rebel? Gee would be spectacular if it would but I'm guessing no. Thanks for all the help I'm trying to blow the dust off off of my brain.
