Canon Sd 1000 Review Knowledge Base
Sub-Compact Camera battle, Canon vs. Sony? I'm looking most specifically at 2 cameras, Canon sd-1000 and Sony dcs-t100. I like the reliable name and quality of canon, the sd-1000 has had great reviews regarding quality, video, and i like the scratch resistant screen. It is about $225. The Sony t100 is slightly newer, but has caught my eye as well. Picture quality is said to be excellent (yet some still consider canon better). It has a better zoom, a bigger screen, and basically a few more bells and whistles. I'd like to know more about the video mode, and it is said to be durable in terms of material. It is about $350. Do you have either camera, or know which is the best? I'd like to carry it with me basically all the time, so durability is important. Quality photos for enlarging are necessary, as well as a sufficient professional video mode. Thanks! any other suggestions are welcome!
why are my pictuers so grainy in my sd1000? i bought it at sam's so could i have gotten a bad camera? i had read great reviews on the canon sd 1000 so i decided to try it but all my pictures seem to come out really grainy with no flash and the iso at 800 and then if i put the iso at 400 any movement blurrs is it just my camera or are all the sd 1000's like this i dont even have to zoom in sometimes to see how grainy the picture looks
What would cause a camera view screen to stop working and how do I fix it? I have a Canon SD-1000 that I bought just before christmas 2007. I love the camera and it has worked fine until tonight. The LCD view screen when in camera (stills) mode isn't working. It works fine in camcorder mode and the picture review mode. All the little icons even still show but the screen itself is all black. it's almost like something is covering the lens but absolutely nothing is! It still takes pictures fine but I cannot see what I am taking because the screen remains blank until the picture is taken. The picture review comes up though. I tried messing around with the functions and It shows up when in a digital mode that I am unfamiliar with but the pics are blurry. (i'm still learning all the different modes and functions) Do you have any idea what would cause the LCD screen to not show what is being captured before hand and how I could fix it myself?
