Confused between canon sd 850 IS and sd 870 IS!pls rate and comment boths performance.?

This chirstmas, i have to purchase camera i want to decide between canon sd 850 IS and 870 IS.i want to gift someone.pls could you rate the perforamce of both.owners Reviews are also most welcome. pls rcomment in simple terms as i am not professional photographer.

2. The basic difference between these two camera is that one "zooms" a little wider but not as far and the other "zooms" a lot farther but not quite as wide. The SD850-IS zooms farther and that would be my choice, just because I think it's more useful as well as just more fun to zoom out farther so you can "bring objects closer" to the camera. Either one is an excellent choice, though. The last time I checked, the SD850-IS was $50 cheaper, so that would be the tie-breaker for me if it was a gift. In fact, I chose the SD700-IS as a gift for my (adult) daughter without really considering the price. The SD850-IS is just the upgrade (newer model) for the SD700-IS, so I already vote with my wallet.
