can I lock canon sd 800 flash setting in auto mode?

canon sd 800 always resets flash light setting in auto mode if I turn off the box. Can I turn off flash light forever?

1. yes you can, use the P (program mode). In this mode, the camera is still fully automatic except that you can control the flash but in Auto Mode, there is no way you can control the flash.
