- There are alot of cameras to pick from but since you narrowed it down to these 2... I'd go with the Canon.. Actually is personal preference.
- Sony works fine
- i like sony in general.
- Both Ok,,, Many don't like Sony menus. I have the Canon 1ds mk2 and the mk2 and must say that Canon only makes cameras, Sony makes a lot of good stuff, but they don't "live" by the light of a camera as canon does.
- I have the SD1000, awesome camera. Takes great pictures and its fast. I looked at the T10 before purchasing the Canon. I found the overall layout and form factor of the Canon were better for me. I use the optical viewfinder a good bit, helps extend battery life. That was a big plus of the Canon.
- they are both fine, simple little digicams with almost identical specifications. the sony costs a bit more (but the pictures wont be any better). I've never liked the form factor of the sony T-series- with the sliding cover, or the adherence to their proprietary memory sticks. so- on those minor points, I'd go with the Canon. Unless you really like an internal lens format- then the Sony is for you. However- for that price- you might want to look at the SD700IS or 800IS (for 28mm wide angle). the image stabilization will be more useful than the difference between 6 and 7 Mpix. Plus, you get a 4x zoom instead of a 3x. Or, for an indoor, social camera, you'll do better with a fuji F31fd. It's got 2-3 stops better low light performance and 580 shots from a charge on the battery. sweet.
