Which is the best canon digital camera to purchase the SD 710 IS or the SD 700 IS

  1. There is no SD710 IS...it is actually the A710 IS. Both of these cameras are very different in some ways and similar in others. The SD700 IS, which I myself have...is a very stylish looking and 'ultra' compact camera (mostly made of metal, including the tripod mount)...with a 4x optical image stabiliser. It has a very good high res. LCD (173,000 pixels) and has very limited manual controls-it's meant as a take anywhere, point & shoot camera. The A710 IS is obviously not as small and stylish looking (a mix of metal and plastic-with a plastic tripod mount)...it has an extra megapixel, which you probably wouldn't notice-but it has 6x optical zoom, plus the image stabiliser and it has full manual control (aperture & shutter priority modes) It's LCD screen is not as high res as the other camera (115, 000 pixels). So, if you want a very good camera with the emphasis being on compactness, then I would highly recommend the SD700 IS...and if you want a camera with a little more optical zoom and the ability to choose your own shutter & aperture, then the A710 IS might be a better option. I suggest you go to a camera store and handle both cameras to see which looks and feels better in your hands. Check out the reviews below to see for yourself...
