Should I buy the Canon SD 700 IS now or wait for the SD 800 IS?

  1. now....
  2. And when the SD800 IS comes out, there will be the SD900 IS which will follow shortly after the SD800, then the SD1000, etc. etc.
  3. The SD700IS is a terrific camera. Certainly the extra pixels aren't worth waiting for... However- there is one really wonderful thing tha Canon did to the SD800- they changed the lens so that it's a 28mm wide angle. Much more useful and definately worth waiting for, IMHO. Or- you could save the money and just get the Panasonic FX01/FX07 or FX50, which already have a proven and really steller 28mm wide angle lens, Optical image stabilization, and nice packaging. The Canon is marginally better- but you really need to look close- and it costs a heck of a lot more.
  4. I would wait for the SD 800 IS......because it has a higher res LCD screen, a wider lens (28-105mm) and the new Digic III processor.
