Canon Cameras

canon sd 850 is or sd 870 is?

as of now i like the look of the 870 is more but i'm not sure if it's worth the extra money i mostly want it for low light environments such as taking pictures of performances on stage so i'm not sure if there is a difference between these two that makes it better for that? as for the wide angle on the 870 i don't think i really care about that amazon has a good deal on the 850 + memory card but the look of the 870 is better for me

  1. When it comes to photography, the performance of the camera is much more important the its looks. Looks cannot capture great images.
  2. For the kind of pictures you want to take, the better camera is the 850 hands down. IS will help you hold the camera steady to a certain extent, but you will need all the help you can get to accomplish sharp pictures. The 870 does not have an optical viewfinder so you will be limited to viewing what you are trying to photograph on the LCD monitor screen. That means that you will be holding the camera away from your body to view your image. Holding the camera like this is a sure path to camera movement and blurry pictures. The 850 has an optical finder so you will take your low light pictures holding the camera with both hands securely against your head. This is a far better way to hold the camera steady in low light situations. Your chances of getting sharp pictures will be far greater.
