Which is better Canon SD 850 or SD 1000?
First off, what are the differences between the two and which one has more or better features. I like them both but I'm having a hard time deciding which one would be better

- Clearly, the SD850-IS is "better" than the SD1000. If nothing else, it has image stabilization and the SD1000 does not. It is REAL image stabilzation, too, and not some digital trick. The lens zooms out a bit farther, also, to 140 mm instead of 105 mm. (4X instead of 3X)
- The Optical Image Stabilization (a mechanical system in the lens that helps prevent blurry photos from you moving or taking pictures in lower light) system is well worth the cost. The SD850-IS is built a bit differently with the infinity curve style to it which is pretty slick, but the biggest thing is that stabilizer! It also uses a different battery system that will typically give you a few more shots per charge. Both cameras have the new compact camera version of the Digic iii processor, so really it boils down to the stabilization. If you look at the difference between a stabilized and non stabilized lens for a big Canon camera, the price difference is drastic. Features wise, however, they have the same menu and nearly identical features otherwise.
