Canon Digital Elph with broken screen?

Has anyone had any experience having the display fixed on a digital camera? My canon digital elph had the display broken, and I am wondering which is more cost effective to get it fixed or buy a new camera?

1. If it isn't under warranty you could call them and ask but it's probably easier and cheaper to get a new one (unless it still is).
