Canon Powershot SD1000 Digital Elph?

On this camera, does anyone know a way to view how much battery power you have left? Possibly at all times?

1. you can't any of the canon camera's i have had don't have a battery indicator that is one of the cons of having a canon camera
2. there is no way the battery will only show when it is low I have 3 canons
