Canon Cameras

Canon SD 950 and 870 memory questions and OT?

What is the fastest memory on the market for these two cameras? What is the largest memory chips available for these cameras? Please provide link to information. Do charger stands (like an ipod has) exist for either of these two cameras? Does either camera have a silent mode so that when I take a picture, there is no noise? Are there any other accessories besides a tripod, memory card, and photo printer that you I could get for the cameras?

  1. - There are SD cards up to 150x speed (22.5 Mb/second), but neither of those cameras are going to go any faster with them than with, say, a 80x card, because the camera itself has limits in how fast it can take the picture, process it and store it. Therefore, any Sandisk UltraII, or 80x or around 10 Mb/second card, will be enough. - Transcend, Sandisk and Lexar have SD-HC cards up to 8 Gb: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0703/07030804sandisk8gb.asp http://www.transcendusa.com/Products/ModDetail.asp?ModNo=127&LangNo=0 http://www.kingston.com/flash/sd_home.asp - Not that I know. - Both offer you to customize the operation and shutter sounds to “none”, which will leave only the physically unavoidable -but quite dim, really- “click” sound of the shutter. - A camera case and an additional battery would come in handy in many situations.
