  1. How long your movies are depends on a couple of things. Which resolution/framerate you have selected...and what capacity your memory card has. The SD450 allows you to record at 640x480 @ 30fps (this is the best quality available and is the one you should use if you want the best looking movies). Movies can be shot continuously up to a capacity of 1GB (which is approx. 8 minutes). You can also record at a fast frame rate of 60fps, but the resolution is smaller. Movies are limited to 1 minute in length. You would only use this mode for recording fast moving subjects. You can also record at lower resolutions which take up much less card space, however, their quality is not as good. I wouldn't recommend you use these for everyday recording. So, you need to take into consideration what capacity your memory card has. High quality movies need 1GB per 8 minutes...that's 2 minutes per 256MB or 1 minute per 128MB. If your card has a small capacity, then you should just buy a larger card (1-2GB). A fast card is required for shooting movies. Have a look at the excellent Sandisk Ultra II or Extreme III SD card. Format it before you use it. Also, have a look in your Advanced User Guide (pages 41-42) for Movie recording information...
