I just purchased a Canon ELPH SD1100, but pictures are not clear and grainy. What could i be doing wrong?

- go to menu and change your resolution
- It sounds as though you are using the video capture mode. Be sure you are in still picture mode. Just an idea.
- ISO setting may be too high. Switch to manual settings or other mode that will let you choose a lower ISO, You will need to use the flash, or else take pictures in lighter settings.
- Check and make sure you have the highest mega pixel setting. The lower the mega pixels, the lower the quality. You can do this by going into the menu and select something on pixels or something like that. If that doesn't work try cleaning your lens, it may be fingerprinted or something. If that doesn't work then return it and I suggest getting an Olympus E500, works great, have one, no problem ever.
- You have to change the picture quality settings. I change mine all the time, so I can take more pics. If you change the quality so it's better, you won't be able to take as many pictures.
