How fast SD card to use with Canon SX 100IS?

Has anyone gotten any success using faster SD card with their Canon SX 100IS Camera? I want to use it for continuous shooting and video recording which requires faster SD card. I contacted Canon and they told me they don’t rate their camera’s read/ write speed of card reader inside the camera. How do I know what is the fastest SD Card to buy? I don’t want to waste my money on faster memory card if my camera can’t utilize it.

1. Canon does not rate the speed. You can always uses a really fast card. The camera might be able to take care of it, but your card reader on your machine can. A card like the Sandisk Extreme IV or Sandisk Ducati are probably overkill for your camera. Exteme IIIs are also probably two fast, but you can get the Sandisk Extreme card reader and download the files quickly to your computer. The regular and Ultra II Sinkdisks are probably what you need to get.
