What is the best mid priced digital camera?

My husband bought a kodak easy share with 12 times optical zoom,he loved the camera,but it kept messing up so he returned it.Now we are looking for a new camera,with at least 10 times optical zoom,for a good price.So far we have looked at a fuji film fine pix,a canon powershot,and a panosonic Lumix.Does anyone here own one of these and if so what are they like?pros and cons please.Thanks

1. I tried the Sony Cybershot, I think it worth its price and the quality is really good, as well as its compatibility with any kind device comes with every needed wire and a built in memory...
