Are Canon EOS Kiss cameras bought in Japan available in the English language?

I;m planning to buy a Canon EOS kiss ? (Canon 450D) in Japan...

1. You will have to have them change it for you there. I don't know how much a savings there is by buying in Japan or if it will offset the problems you will run into if you ever need to repair it when you return to the States. Canon USA will NOT repair cameras that were not imported by them ... period. You will have to return it to Japan if you ever need warranty work, but worse as the camera ages, any cleaning, calibrating or repairing will be done outside the US This is information I have heard from my friends who shoot Canons and travel Internationally. I have no reason to disbelieve them. To confirm this you may want to call Canon's help line and get the authorized statement from Canon. (800) OK-CANON
2. There should be a language setting in the menus somewhere. There is a language setting on my XTi. It's the same camera only with different labels. The software that ships with the camera will be in Japanese, and I am not sure that they will send an English version with it. It may be an option when installing (english), I am not sure.
3. The user manual will be in Japanese.
4. Yup..it has multi language..Canon EOS REbel 450D are also named Canos XSI in North America and in Japan it's Canon EOS Digital Kiss X2.
