Do film canon lenses fit the new EOS digital mounts?

I just bought a canon eos 350d from a friend and i want to buy a lens, but cannot afford one. i saw old canon lenses in a store and what i want to know is if they will fit this camera?

1. Canon abandoned their FD lens mount when they introduced the EOS Rebel line of 35mm auto focus cameras. If the store you saw the lens in is a real camera store they can tell you what mount it is. You can also look at the mount-end of the lens and it may have the letters "FD" - which would tell you it won't work on your 350D.
2. The newer film lenses will work. Since you say this is an old canon lens then my guess is that it's one with an FD mount and that won't work. For a lens to work on your 350D it needs to be EF or EF-S mount.
