  1. I own a PowerShot S50. It's a little bulky, but at 5.0 megapixels, it takes OUTSTANDING photos if you have it set at a good resolution. I don't have any problems with the flash cards or downloads to my computer. It's pretty user friendly. I lost my old one on vacation, and purchased another just like it because it's a great camera. The Elph 400 is my next choice because of its compact size, but it's a little pricey.
  2. Many have suggested the Canon S2 which has top quality and is now available for just under $300 shipped. Fantastic zoom and image stablizer. A site that often is helpful relating to digital cameras and pricing is dealnew.com
  3. well are you adamant on canon? if not i'd recommend nikon... and if you're looking for real handy ones try the nikon coolpix s3 or s4!!man the shots are real cool..and as far as i've heard the lens in nikon (nikkor lens) is far more better than canons...all the best!
  4. canon s2 is. I bought mine for $318. Has 12 optical zoom (4 digital) optical image stabilizer which helps a bit. stereo sound 640x480 30 fps movie 5 mp 13 shooting modes 1.8" "twist around screen" pic bridge 4 AA batteries my 2500 mAh bats last for hundreds of pictures and i'm pretty sure canon makes much better lenses than nikon
