  1. It depends upon which memory cards you already have. If you have a bunch of SD memory cards, the get the Canon. If xD cards, get the Fujifilm. They are both good cameras.
  2. check out the sony cyber shot new models, they kick ass. I got one a year ago and it is amazing. About the same size too, but it has a non-extending zoom that is chill. I used it for my photo class one year and it was cool. easiest one in the class to use effectively, has an awesome touchscreen, and I believe has more megapixel than either of those two.
  3. A good all-rounder, well take a look at the lens aperture (how wide open it is capable of for gathering light) on both the Canon starting at 5.8mm to 17.4mm, then the Fuji starting at 8 mm - 24 mm. All things being equal when it comes to the built-in flash, still the Canon has it hands down. What this may mean to you is in low level light photos, the Canon's 5.8mm wide open aperture will gather more available light without the need for flash. Also looking at the long ends, the 17mm Canon & 24mm Fuji, the Fuji has an advantage for long range landscape photos. So you can base your decision on two thoughts, 1-with the Canon's wider, slightly faster lens you will be able to shoot on the border of good light without having to add the flash to what might make a very nice natural light shot, or 2 -with the Fuji's longer range zoom you would be able to place in the viewfinder & the picture, a somewhat less distorted mountain scene. And of course both will do very well at night, but even here Canon will hold a slight edge. Just for full disclosure I own both a Fuji & a Canon so I am not necessarily biased. Following are a website with full specs on the Fuji, first and the Canon. Good luck & don't let your decision be a tough one as they are both good little cameras.
  4. check out the canon a570
  5. The Fuji 40 would be a good choice, and at 8.1 MP too. I Plan to purchase two of them for gifts. Never did fancy the Canons much.
